This original WW2-era Japanese sword, forged in 1941 by the renowned swordsmith Ishido Teruhide, is an exceptional artifact of history and craftsmanship. Ishido Teruhide (1900–1982) was the 10th and final generation of the esteemed Ishido Korekazu lineage, descending from the legendary Musashi Daijo Fujiwara Korekazu.

During World War II, Ishido Teruhide created many swords for high-ranking military officers, along with blades for civilian use. This rare piece bears his kao (personal seal) alongside the mei (signature), featuring the name Ishido Mitsunobu, which he used during part of his career.In 1943, Teruhide was ranked as Betseki by the Nihon Token Tanrenjo and the Nihon Token Shinbunshi, solidifying his reputation as a master swordsmith.As with all Ishido blades, this sword boasts superb craftsmanship, combining traditional techniques with precise artistry.
