Koto Katana attributed to Inshu Kanesaki in WW2 Gunto Mounts
The blade has great activity and highly well forged katana attributed to Inshu Kanesaki by the NBTHK.
We can see it has an active grain pattern and temper line.
The very nice blade is 420 years old made is the jear 1600.
The cutting edge measures 69.4cm / 27.3 inches and the current polish is good condition.
The Kanesaki line started towards the end of Muromachi period, thrived and continued several hundred years later to the end of Edo period.
This is earlier work and the line was located in Inaba region which is the Northern shore of Japan above Bizen region.
Earlier generations were also active in Bizen province which is why we see Bizen traits in the work.
