This beautiful armor comes from the Karō (家 老, house elder) class samurai (feudal domain).
The Karō class samurai were top-ranking samurai officials and advisors in service to the daimyōs of feudal Japan.
A general term for a domain-based karō is kunigarō (国家 老).
The samurai who has worn this armor is unfortunately unknown.
